Since 1988, October has been proclaimed as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. October 15th was selected as the remembrance memorial date by Robyn Bear, the founder of the movement that led to President Reagan's proclamation for this awareness month. Although many believe the number is much higher, the recognized statistic is 1 in every 4 pregnancies ends in loss. To put a face by a number, I am 1 in 4. - Nancy Blanchard On October 15th we, remember all the babies gone too soon at the International Wave of Light Ceremony sponsored by the Maggie Jean Foundation from 7-8 PM at the SMSU Outdoor Classroom in the Environmental Learning Area. Candles, cider and cupcakes from the Sugar & Spice - Marshall, MN bakery will be provided. All are welcome! Please use the NE entrance to the Environmental Learning Area circled in red on the SMSU campus map. Parking will be available on Stadium Drive and Mustang Trail.
